Chevrolet C10 Stepside
Description
This 1968 Chevrolet C10 Longbed Stepside is no simple pickup - it's a statement. Rebuilt by the specialists at Dream Machines in Kentucky, it combines the robust base of the legendary C10 with a breathtaking custom finish and modern technology.
Under the hood is a Jasper 383 Stroker V8, paired with a Jasper TH350 automatic transmission - a combination that stands for uncompromising torque, powerful sound and absolute reliability. Every gas stroke is an experience, every kilometer a piece of American driving culture.
The exterior is a work of art: a two-tone paint finish in PPG Pearl White on top and Glamour Green Pearl on the bottom, separated by elegant pinstripes from Kurby Signs, also from Kentucky. The look is classic, individual and perfected by hand. Chrome bumpers, the stepside loading area and the long silhouette of the longbed round off the authentic US style.
Inside, you can expect a cleanly finished interior with contemporary functionality and a top audio system. The pickup drives smoothly, safely and confidently - whether on the highway, at a meeting or on the country road.
Now to the nitty-gritty: The hood has been converted into a flip front and is made of GRP, as are the rear fenders, the right one of which has been scratched. In the States, the GRP elements are not a problem, but for the Swiss MFK they are a thorn in the side. It would be feasible, but the owner has no interest in presenting the vehicle and is therefore selling it duty paid with 13.20 and all the associated documents as well as the purchase contract from 1968 and the original vehicle documents.

Model history
The Chevrolet C10 is part of the legendary C/K series, which was introduced in 1960 and dominated the American pickup scene until the late 1990s. The second generation, which included the 1968 model year, brought decisive progress: new frame technology, better chassis geometry and, for the first time, a clear distinction between the lightweight „C“ models (2WD) and the „K“ models (4WD).
While pickups were primarily workhorses in the 1950s, the C10 increasingly developed into a lifestyle vehicle in the 1960s - a truck that not only cut a fine figure on the farm, but also in the city or in front of the diner. The 1968 model year is considered particularly attractive, as it represents the last year of construction of the „second generation“ before the revised body with a more angular design was introduced in 1969.
Typical of this generation was the Stepside cargo bed, which offered a charming, classic look with its free-standing mudguards and external wheel arches. In contrast to the Fleetside (with a smooth, wide loading area), the Stepside had a nostalgic flair - and today offers a perfect basis for individualization, especially in the custom sector.
Under the hood, six-cylinder and V8 engines were available from the factory, including the popular 327 small block. However, many C10s were modified, tuned and rebuilt over the decades - like this one. With the 383 stroker (a displacement increase of the 350 small block), it has significantly more punch than any standard engine. The Jasper engine builder is famous for its precise, long-lasting units and puts modern lifeblood into this truck.
The car also leaves nothing to be desired visually: The two-tone paint finish with pearl and metallic effect reflects the custom culture of the USA. The fine pinstripes from Kurby Signs are in the best American hot rod tradition - hand-painted, individual and full of character.
Today, a 1968 C10 in well-maintained condition is a coveted classic in its own right. With this type of high-quality conversion, it becomes a unique specimen that makes collectors' hearts beat faster. It embodies the spirit of the American custom scene of the 60s and 70s, combined with the reliability of modern technology.
