Kawasaki KX250F
Description
This Kawasaki KX250F from 2011 is not a toy - it is a serious piece of sports equipment. Developed for ambitious motocross riders, it has always been professionally maintained and recently fitted with a fresh racing kit (pistons, valves, timing chain, etc.).
The liquid-cooled 249 cc single-cylinder four-stroke delivers an explosive, linear power delivery that can be perfectly controlled. The precise 5-speed gearbox, the sportily tuned chassis and the racing look make it a real eye-catcher on any track.
Technically, the bike is in top shape - no traces of tinkering, no maintenance backlog. The fork, shock and brakes work precisely, the engine revs up cleanly and sounds like a real crosser should: pithy, bright and snappy.
The bike has just under 60 operating hours behind it and only two of them since the engine overhaul and the installation of the racing kit.
You can find a video of the bike at the bottom of this page.
Model history
The Kawasaki KX250F is considered one of the most successful four-stroke motocross bikes of its time. When it was launched in 2004, it marked the beginning of a new era in motocross: the switch from two-stroke to four-stroke engines.
2011 was a key year in development - the KX250F received a revised injection system, a finely tuned chassis and a completely new cylinder head design. The DOHC four-cylinder with titanium valves revved up to over 13,000 rpm and delivered a linear but explosive power delivery - perfect for technical routes.
The chassis was developed by Showa and offered one of the best balances between stability and agility in the 250cc segment. The aluminum frame, the adjustable suspension and the grippy ergonomics made the KX250F a machine that also impressed professionals.
It was a perennial favorite in racing: countless AMA Supercross and Motocross titles were won on the KX250F. Riders such as Ryan Villopoto, Christophe Pourcel and Blake Baggett made history on it.
Socially, the KX250F symbolized the new generation of motocross - less smoke, more technology, but no loss of character. It brought performance and control into harmony and made the four-stroke socially acceptable on the slopes.
The 2011 version is considered one of the most reliable vintages today: robust, strong and perfectly tuned. With the freshly installed racing kit, this model is technically practically as good as new - ready for many more hours on the track.
