Dieser sehr gut erhaltene und seltene Chevrolet Monza tr\u00e4gt den Beinamen \u00abSpyder\u00bb und ist damit das sportlichste Modell der Modellreihe. Der Wagen aus wurde \u00fcber die Jahre gehegt und gepflegt und kommt mit einer niedrigen Laufleistung und 4.3 Liter V8 angerollt.<\/p>\n

Der Motor schnurrt sonor vor sich hin und bringt seine Kraft anst\u00e4ndig auf die Hinterachse. Die Lackierung ist gut in Schuss und das Getriebe erf\u00fcllt seinen Zweck wie am ersten Tag. An der Beifahrert\u00fcre unten und unter dem rechten Seitenfenster finden sich ein paar Rostbl\u00e4schen, auf die man ein Auge haben sollte. Sonst steht der Wagen sehr gut da und auch untenrum brilliert der Veteran ungeschweisst und mit originalen Blechen.<\/p>

Der Name Monza greift auf den des Corvair Monza zur\u00fcck, der in den fr\u00fchen sechziger Jahren das Konzept des sportlichen Kompaktwagens in den USA pr\u00e4sentierte. Der Corvair Monza war eine Art Vorl\u00e4ufer der beliebten Pony Cars.<\/span><\/p>

Der Chevrolet Monza basierte auf dem Chevrolet Vega, wurde von 1974 bis 1980 als Gegenst\u00fcck zum Mustang II produziert und die Schwestermodelle des Monza nannten sich Buick Skyhawk, Oldsmobile Starfire und Pontiac Sunbird.<\/p>

Der Kundschaft vorgestellt wurde der Monza im September 1974 als dreit\u00fcriges Schr\u00e4gheck-Sportcoup\u00e9 (Monza 2+2) mit Hinterradantrieb, grosser Heckklappe und vier Sitzpl\u00e4tzen. Zur Serienausstattung geh\u00f6rten vordere Einzelsitze mit Kunstlederbezug und ein Sportlenkrad. Im April 1975 erfolgte die Einf\u00fchrung des Stufenheck-Coup\u00e9s mit der Modellbezeichnung Towne Coupe. Bis 1977 war der Wagen auch als Cabrio bestellbar. John DeLorean bezeichnete den Wagen als Kopie des Ferrari 365 GTC\/4, dessen Linienf\u00fchrung der des Monza tats\u00e4chlich sehr \u00e4hnlich sah.<\/p>

Angetrieben wurde der Wagen entweder von einem 2.3-Liter-Vierzylinder-Reihenmotor oder von V8-Motoren mit 4.3 oder 5.7 Litern Hubraum. Der 5.7 Liter Motor entfiel bereits 1976 und machte Platz f\u00fcr eine \u00absparsamere\u00bb 5.0 Liter Maschine. 1977 wurde auch der 4.3 Liter V8 aus der Preisliste gestrichen. Geschaltet wurde manuell per Vier- oder F\u00fcnfgang-Schaltgetriebe, letzteres mit Schongang, oder per Dreigangautomatik. Die Vorderr\u00e4der waren mit Bremsscheiben best\u00fcckt, hinten verwendete man Trommelbremsen uns optional wurde ein Bremskraftverst\u00e4rker eingebaut.<\/p>

Der Monza 2+2 wurde von der Fachzeitschrift Motor Trend zum \u201eAuto des Jahres\u201c gew\u00e4hlt.<\/p>

Das Spyder-Typenschild wurde urspr\u00fcnglich zur Bezeichnung des Corvair-Modells mit Turbolader von 1962 bis 1964 verwendet. Der Name \u201eSpyder\u201c wurde 1976 f\u00fcr den Chevrolet Monza eingef\u00fchrt. Der Monza Spyder war die sportlichste Version der Reihe und man konnte das Upgrade, welches grosse vordere\/hintere Stabilisatoren, spezielle Stossd\u00e4mpfer, Schwarzwand-Radialreifen mit Stahlg\u00fcrtel, Rad\u00f6ffnungsleisten, Tag-Nacht-Innenspiegel, Sport Lenkrad, spezielle Instrumentierung und \u201egen\u00e4hte\u201c Instrumententafelauflage mit zus\u00e4tzlichen Vinylakzenten in Holzmaserung (serienm\u00e4ssig beim 2+2), unverwechselbare \u201eSpyder\u201c-Identifikation (Kotfl\u00fcgelembleme in Schriftschrift, Hupenknopfeinsatz am Lenkrad und Spyder-Frontverkleidung und Heckschloss Startseite) enthielt, mit oder ohne leichtem Spyder-Bodykit f\u00fcr Fliess- und Stufenheckmodell und auch f\u00fcr alle Motorisierungen bestellen.<\/p>
