Ein seltener Anblick in einem interessanten Zustand: Aussen stark patiniert und von der Sonne gepeinigt, innen ebenfalls patiniert aber gepflegt und von unten ein rostfreier, frisch versiegelter Traum. Dieses Coup\u00e9 sucht jemanden, der gerne gem\u00fctlich cruist und dem es egal sein will, ob die Karosserie noch die eine oder andere Alters- oder Gebrauchserscheinung mehr auf sich nimmt.<\/p>

Der Special ist tadellos gewartet, zuverl\u00e4ssig und sehr angenehm zu fahren. Sein Reihenachtzylinder startet ohne zu meckern und blubbert gutm\u00fctig vor sich hin, w\u00e4hrend die Dynaflow-Automatik sanft durch die G\u00e4nge schaltet und die Insassen auf den zwei verbauten Sofas gem\u00fctlich durch die Gegend rollen l\u00e4sst.<\/p>

2012 wurde dieser Two-Door aus den Staaten importiert und seit einer anschliessenden Teilrevision des Motors macht er die Schweizer Landstrassen regelm\u00e4ssig zur Sehensw\u00fcrdigkeit.<\/p>

In den letzten drei Jahren wurden der rostfreie Unterboden gereinigt und versiegelt, das Getriebe samt Automaten komplett revidiert und die Achsschenkelbolzen sowie die Kr\u00fcmmerdichtung ersetzt. Der Wagen kommt frisch ab Service und wird auf Wunsch auch frisch vorgef\u00fchrt, aufgrund der Patina allerdings nicht als Veteran.<\/p>

Der Kofferraum ist prall gef\u00fcllt mit g\u00e4ngigen Ersatz- und Originalteilen: Darin zu finden sind unter anderem die originalen Radkappen, passende Radlager, diverse Dichtungen und Riemen sowie Lampen inklusive Birnen. Bis auf die Uhr und die Tankanzeige funktionieren alle Instrumente tadellos.<\/p>

The Buick Special was a passenger car model series that was manufactured by GM in the USA in the 1930 model year and then from 1934 to 1958. Until 1935, the model series was only called Series 40; from 1936, the designation Special was added. The Special reappeared in the model years 1961 to 1969, but without the serial number 40.<\/p>

Ab 1940 bekam der Special eine neue Karosserie ohne Trittbretter und mit in die vorderen Kotfl\u00fcgel integrierten Scheinwerfern. Der K\u00fchlergrill hatte wieder horizontale Chromst\u00e4be, entsprach in seinen Umrissen aber dem des Vorjahres. 1941 verschmolzen die Scheinwerfergeh\u00e4use vollst\u00e4ndig mit den nun volumin\u00f6seren vorderen Kotfl\u00fcgeln. Im letzten Jahr der Vorkriegsproduktion, 1942, bekam der Special noch einmal ein neues Gesicht. Der flache, hufeisenf\u00f6rmige K\u00fchlergrill trug nun wieder senkrechte Chromst\u00e4be und die Motoren leisteten mit 110 PS geringf\u00fcgig weniger als im Vorjahr.<\/p>

1946 startete Automobilproduktion wieder mit nur geringf\u00fcgig ver\u00e4nderten letzten Vorkriegsmodellen. Der Motor wurde unver\u00e4ndert \u00fcbernommen und neben einer viert\u00fcrigen Limousine gab es nur noch eine zweit\u00fcrige Sedanette (Fliesshecklimousine). Bis einschliesslich 1949 gab es nur kosmetische \u00c4nderungen.<\/p>

Ab 1950 erstreckten sich die senkrechten Chromst\u00e4be des K\u00fchlergrills bis in die vorderen Stossf\u00e4nger. Als dritte Karosserieform kam wieder ein zweit\u00fcriges Coup\u00e9 dazu und es gab auch wieder eine einteilige Windschutzscheibe.<\/p>

Das Modelljahr 1951 brachte vor allen Dingen einen gr\u00f6sseren Motor. Der neue Reihenachtzylinder hatte einen Hubraum von 4315 cm\u00b3 und leistete 120 PS bei 3’600 Umdrehungen. Der K\u00fchlergrill mit schm\u00e4leren vertikalen Chromst\u00e4ben wurde vom in der Mitte abgesenkten vorderen Stossf\u00e4nger und einer massiven Chromspange \u00fcber dem K\u00fchlergrill umrahmt. Neu war auch das zweit\u00fcrige Hardtop-Coup\u00e9.<\/p>

1952 gab es wieder nur wenige kosmetische \u00c4nderungen. 1953 war der Special das einzig verbliebene Buick-Modell mit Reihenachtzylindermotor, der im Folgejahr durch den V8-Motor abgel\u00f6st wurde.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
