Fiat 130 Coupé - Sold
Description
The driving experience in the Fiat 130 Coupé is like a journey through time - in the best sense of the word. When you get behind the wheel, you immediately feel transported back to an era when cars still had character and personality. The V6 engine comes to life with a gentle hum and makes you smile even when the car is stationary. With 165 hp, the Fiat 130 may not be a dragster, but it delivers enough power to provide adequate juice even in the higher speed ranges.
The steering is, as is usual with cars of this era, less precise than in today's models - but that is exactly what creates this nostalgic feeling of „driving a car, not just steering“. You almost feel a bit like a captain taking the wheel without being in a hurry to get to your destination. And that's exactly what makes this classic so charming: You're not just driving from A to B, you're experiencing the journey.
The chassis of the 130 Coupé is surprisingly comfortable, even on less than ideal roads, which is good news for longer trips. The clean lines of the design only become more impressive as you drive - this car was made not only to be driven, but also to amaze.
The condition of this example is very good. The violet paintwork in the original color is new, looks very good and suits the car perfectly. The interior is also in good condition, although the color of the fabric has faded considerably due to the Italian sun. The front seats have therefore been reupholstered, but the rest of the interior has not. However, this does not detract from the driving experience, as the rare 130cc cars are simply very comfortable to drive.
Technically and underneath, everything also looks clean and professionally maintained. The brakes were recently serviced all round and, thanks to a fresh veterans' MOT in the canton of Lucerne, the next inspection is not due until 2030.
It is a classic car that can be easily and comfortably driven as a daily and doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. Pure relaxation and nostalgia.

Model history
The Fiat 130 Coupé, introduced in 1971, was an elegant and ambitious project by the Italian car manufacturer Fiat. The model belonged to the upper middle class and was positioned as a luxurious counterpart to the more practical Fiat 124 series. The coupé was not only a technical but also a stylistic masterpiece of its time and helped Fiat to achieve a more upmarket brand perception.
The design of the Fiat 130 Coupé comes from Pininfarina and the designers responsible were Paolo Martin and Leonardo Fioravanti. For the Fiat 130 Coupé, they were inspired by the clean lines and powerful appearance of Italian Gran Turismo models, but combined a contemporary interpretation of luxury and sportiness.
Fiat developed a completely new platform for the Fiat 130 Coupé, the first model in the 130 series. This not only enabled a comfortable driving style, but also offered an exceptionally generous interior. The body was a self-supporting steel construction that guaranteed both stability and an attractive appearance. Inside, the Fiat 130 Coupé was equipped with fine materials, including leather, wood and carpets, which underlined the vehicle's upmarket aspirations.
The Fiat 130 Coupé was powered by a 3.2-liter V6 engine with an output of 165 hp. This engine enabled the Coupé to reach a top speed of around 190 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just over 10 seconds. The engine was coupled to a 3-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual gearbox, with the automatic version being preferred, especially on the domestic Italian market. The vehicle had independent front and rear suspension.
Production of the Fiat 130 Coupé ran from 1971 to 1976, with a total of around 4,493 vehicles of the model being produced. This small number made the model a rare classic that is highly valued today by collectors and lovers of Italian cars. Despite its elegant appearance and solid engineering, however, the Fiat 130 Coupé was never able to establish itself on a large scale, not least due to competition from more powerful and popular models such as the Alfa Romeo 2000 GT Veloce and the BMW 3.0 CSi.
Production of the Fiat 130 Coupé ended in 1976 when Fiat revised the model in favor of the Fiat 131.
