Ford Mustang Cobra II

Description

This Ford Mustang Cobra II from 1976 is a true contemporary document of the American 70s. With its typical Cobra stripe and spoiler package and the unmistakable fastback look, it attracts attention wherever it goes. The car is in very good, well-maintained condition, is technically sound and visually charismatic - a car that stands out and is fun to drive.

Under the hood is an extremely powerful 351 V8 with four-barrel carburettor and electronic ignition, whose sound is the true soul of this Mustang: deep, warm and authentically American. The automatic gearbox shifts smoothly and the driving experience is typical of a US car - confident, relaxed and powerful, without hectic, but with plenty of character.

The new interior looks like a time capsule from the late 70s: sports seats, clear instruments and an ambience that is both nostalgic and charming. Everything works as it should and the car is offered fresh from the service and veteran MFK.

A Mustang for fans of US car culture, retro design and V8 lifestyle. This car offers driving fun, character and plenty to talk about - a real eye-catcher with soul.

Model history

After the oil crisis of 1973, Ford had to take a new direction. The big muscle car idea seemed to be over, and so the Mustang II was created, on the basis of which the Cobra II variants were later developed. While purist fans were skeptical at the time, the Mustang II is enjoying growing popularity today - precisely because it represents a piece of authentic 70s automotive history.

The Cobra II, introduced in 1976, was a sportily styled version that was visually reminiscent of the aggressive Mustangs of the late 60s. Typical features: Stripes across the entire body, air scoops, sporty decorative elements and a fastback design that radiated dynamism. The look was deliberately extravagant - an antithesis to the economic years following the crisis.

Under the hood, Ford offered the 2.8 liter V6 or the 5.0 liter V8, which delivered the true American sound, depending on the market. Even though the V8 of this era offered less power than the legendary 60s models, it scored with torque, reliability and the typical „Detroit sound“.

Socially, the Mustang Cobra II reflected the need of a generation to have fun in a car despite difficult times. It was a car for young drivers, for individualists, for anyone who wanted American style without the high fuel costs of earlier years. Numerous appearances in films and series increased its popularity - and today the Cobra II is a cult model that occupies its very own place in Mustang history.

The 1976 Mustang Cobra II combines retro charm, V8 sound and genuine car culture. It is not a muscle car in the classic sense - but an unmistakable character actor of American street culture.
