Aston Martin Rapide
Description
After its world premiere in 2006, the Aston Martin Rapide joined the V8 Vantage, V12 Vantage, DB9 and DBS models in 2010, which were also largely handcrafted and successful under the direction of Ulrich Bez. Aston Martin's successful model is well known: Large-volume high-performance engines paired with modern spaceframe bodies and the transmission on the rear axle.
The Rapide is basically a DB9 that has been elegantly stretched by 30 centimeters to make room for the rear doors and two individual seats in the rear. The competition is obvious: the Maserati Quattroporte, Porsche Panamera and Bentley Continental Flying Spur should have the edge over the Aston Martin.
Despite the 190 kilograms of extra weight compared to the DB9, the Aston Martin Rapide is a true sports car whose chassis set-up was fine-tuned on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. The Rapide was built by contract manufacturer Magna-Steyr in Graz until 2012, but then at the company's headquarters in Gaydon.
The bottom line is that the Rapide is a fully-fledged family car in a beautiful and graceful Aston Martin dress that combines sportiness, luxury and elegance like no other vehicle. Including ISOFIX, optional rear-seat entertainment system and optional heated and ventilated front and rear seats, nothing stands in the way of driving pleasure for all occupants.
The on-board documents are complete, all services have been carried out in certified workshops and the car is in a very well-kept and age-appropriate condition. The sleek Brit has suffered a few small stone chips at the front and the next service is just around the corner.
